WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to view status updates within the chat list for Desktop beta clients. This update is available on the 2.2246.6 version of the app. According to the reports, this feature will also be available to a few lucky users on the stable version of WhatsApp. Earlier the Meta-owned company had released the ability to create polls for everyone.

WhatsApp view status updates within the chat list for Desktop
A previous article released by WABetaInfo, the leading WhatsApp news portal reported about WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.19.17 update. The report mentioned that in this update the company had released the ability to view status updates within the chat list to some select beta testers.
Later the company also rolled out this same feature to some iOS users on WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.18.0.70 update. In this current beta update, the company is bringing this feature to those WhatsApp desktop beta users who install the latest version of the app.
The WhatsApp news source has also released a screenshot of the new view status updates feature. In the image, you can see how the new interface appears. When your contacts share any status update, a ring around their Display picture will appear within the chat list.
To check if this feature is available for your WhatsApp account just check your chat list. If you see this ring around people’s profile photos who have updated their status, it means the feature is available to you. Those who don’t see this new interface try updating your account to the latest version. If it is still unavailable please wait for a future update of the app.
As mentioned earlier ability to view status updates within the chat list is currently rolled out only to some select users.
